Hip Video Spotlight Interviews: Eastern Anchors

Hip Video Spotlight interviews Eastern Anchors

I know we probably talked for what seems like hours but in the end our Hip Video Spotlight came out pretty good (We think) and short and sweet. Andy Gesner fired off some pretty interesting questions that seemed like it took us longer to answer then they did. Here’s the link to the Hip Video Spotlight page. I want my MTV. Don’t You?

Big ups to Director Pete Bune for helping us make the video for “Above Your Station”.

Eastern Anchors econo video: Under the Influence of fIREHOSE

We always ask ourselves. What would Mike Watt do? Seriously. He knows how to keep things econo and he taught us several valuable rock-n-roll lessons over the years. The first. If you are a musician, like the great jazz masters and blues guys, play until you drop. Explore music like you mean it man. Second, in order to keep things going. Be econo when it makes sense. So here’s our latest DIY/econo video shot on a GoPro “Under the Influence of fIREHOSE” from our coming release Dragging Your Axe Behind You.

Recorded in Hoboken New Jersey with our friend and producer/engineer with crazy ears Mr. Tom Beaujour at his place Nuthouse Recording located in the enigmatic north room of Water Music. Our guitars sound big and loud like they should. So that is all you need to know.

Full bandcamp release coming soon for the official first single with two other tracks. Followed by a piece of wax with many more songs.

Cool Dad Music and Greg from CAPTAIN’s DEAD totally featured “Under the influence of fIREHOSE” and Gimmetinnitus on their soundcloud page. Honored hombres.

Songs Jason Molina Compilation Magnolia Electric Co

We are super honored to be able to help out a situation in this situation. We realize we’re not even on the same plain as Magnolia Electric Co was but none the less happy to contribute to the 39 songs put together by Steven Vineis from the band Blacks. As big fans of somebody’s ability to write as many amazing songs as Jason Molina did ¬†we could only hope to he as prolific as this man. All proceeds for this compilation go to the loved one’s he has left behind. Sincerely.

“Songs: Molina” – A Benefit Compilation for Jason Molina’s Survivors

When we recorded this track we thought it would be a good idea to make a video or something. This is actually the first cover we ever recorded in all our years playing together that we released. Sure we’ll whip into ‘web in front’ or bastardize a radiohead song at practice for a few bars in replacements style but this is one of those songs we wish we actually wrote. It’s short and to the point. Perfect. Who needs more? We shot a bunch of footage of recording this in Walt’s kitchen along with some new songs for our next album but it just didn’t feel right so here’s where we ended up to do our part. We never though “It Made Me Cry” would be the lead track! As personal as his songs are we thought it was apropos to do something with a home movie feel to it. So enjoy and support the compilation and his family. Thank you and remember to live your life in full because you never know.

Red 5 standing by… and Texas A&M Forest Service

Aviso Hara song featured in the Texas A&M Forest Service video

Going back like 15 years Walter wrote “Red 5 (Standing by)” for our old band Aviso’Hara. We subsequently recorded the song about 3 times and never imagined that the little raw guitar notes would end up in public service announcement about saving trees. The band was always about slaying them down with our wood axes but alas in our more mature years we are humbly flattered that film maker Lorena Cejudo asked us to contribute a tune to her project. Plant a tree not just on earth day!
